Abstract

Utilizing passive ultra high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) in supply chain is a demanding process, which needs to be prepared, analyzed and designed well. Without consistent analysis of the supply chain the RFID system cannot be as effective as possible. Lack of required application specific supply chain information may even lead to inefficient RFID operations and raise costs. Even though each industry has its own typical supply chain with specific characteristics, many common matters comply. This paper presents the RFID integration procedures into the supply chains of two totally different types of industries, paper and cell phone, and analyses their similarity.
