Solution of Linearly-dependent equations by Generalized Inverse of a Matrix

Abstract

This paper briefly reviews the mathematical considerations behind the generalized inverse of a matrix. Simple derivations for the determination of different types of generalized inverses of a matrix are presented. These include results of the generalized inverse of singular and rectangular matrices. It also includes applications of the generalized inverse to solution of a set of linearly dependent equations.
