Investigation of Catalytic Degradation of Polyolefins in Presence of Polyvinylchloride via Design of Experiments

Abstract


The aim of this study is the determination and investigation of the effective factors (temperature, catalyst percentage and PVC composition) on pyrolysis a mixture of main polyolefins in present of polyvinyl chloride by a new catalyst based on Alumina. Three main types of polyolefins (high-density polyethylene density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, polypropylene) in present of polyvinylchloride chosen as the sample and the pyrolysis carried out in the semi-batch reactor with ambient atmospheric conditions. Factorial design employed as the design of experiment’s method. The analysis of variance for the results showed that the main effects are significant. But some interaction was not significant.
